*SOLD* Neopolitan Mandolin by Umberto Ceccherini, labelled as such and Sold by Alban Voigt, not dated. ** SOLD**
A fine and rare Neopolitan mandolin, the 'tropical' model, with the added and even more rare internal soundboard, the 'double top' model. (This can just be seen through the soundhole in the last photograph). Body of several ribs, of a dark tropical wood, with lighter wood spacer lines. Table of spruce, ebonized neck, tuners with closed backplate and bone heads, and some additional applied silver decoration to the peghead face- and a tiny ladybird as an added decorative feature.
Condition:
The body is good, no cracks or repairs. The table has had some well repaired old cracks, the internal table has no cracks- Action very good, the possibly original bar frets, all trued now and dressed, and all the tuners work well- This mandolin is ready to play, and produces a good strong clear tone- fitted with new special 'Embergher ' strings, specially made. The tropical model as far as I know has all the ribs and table secured to internal braces by brass pins- as can be seen in the photos- the design being for export to warmer climes, and helped it to stay together in humid conditions- it has certainly worked for this one, it has survived probably a century almost, completely intact, with minor repairs only the the table.It is a rare model, and with the secondary internal table, even more unusual and collectable. It is also because of its relatively good price and easy action, perfect for the beginner.

Price excludes freight, taxes etc. and VAT ( VAT zero rated if exported from EC, packing free, freight charged at cost- (ParcelForce, FedEx, or UPS)
The mandolin can be sent out for approval, for a 48 -hour period after receipt. However, all freight charges, inwards and outwards, must be borne by the client, import duties may be levied in some countries, and for the USA the 'Lacey Declaration' has to be complete in addition to any CITES permit if needed. Payment must be in full in advance, and evidence provided of insurance for the journey. For these additional services, a charge will be made. Funds will be refunded in full, provided the guitar arrives back in the shop in the same condition as when it left. If these conditions are not met, then the mandolin will be considered 'Sold'.
